Rewards
We created IBOLD for old friends to regularly gather and continue fostering strong bonds around ice hockey games. With that purpose, we started the league by inviting teammates and competitors - past and present. We filled two teams by Invite Only.
Next, we inserted fun and whimsy into our weekly games by incorporating rule changes. Our rule changes include playing pickup style where goalie saves result in continuation of play, and waiving icings to shorten the time until post-game beverages. Additionally, we inserted in-game gimmicks such as goalies taking penalty shots, players shooting the puck into an empty net from the far blue line, etc. Goals can even be scored based on the referees taking in-game penalty shots.
We are delighted with the players' responses. We quickly expanded adding a third team in Summer 2026 and a fourth team in Fall 2026. If we had more ice, we'd have more teams and more cocktails.
We proudly serve our hockey community and specifically succeed in designing and fostering weekly games that serve older players.
In addition to providing weekly hockey games, we reward our participants. Our league participants are the backbone to our league's success. As a result, we proudly offer rewards to give back to our participants.
Like a well-executed 2-on-1, it is much better to pass and then in turn receive. Our league rewards its participants with the return pass through free tickets, gift cards, random drawings, trinkets, and other valuable benefits.
